Episode 2- Values Chart

If you listened to Episode 2 on Skip the Small Talk, here is the values chart I used.

Choose 10 Top Values & 3 Core Values from the list below- you can choose your own value even if it's not on the list.

Your core values should be most solid, the ones that don't change or shift based on life, it's almost innate and part of you who are as a person, this is who what you represent, the way someone else would describe you. You wear these core values.

The rest of the 10 values are what is important to you, these values have the ability to change and shift based on your stage of life or other factors.

Let these values be a place of reference to everything you do and the decisions you make. Make sure that everything you do and everything you allow in your life (including people and relationships) align with these.

When something feels off, it's time to REFLECT, RE-EVALUATE & REALIGN

  1. I love this, thank you! Episode 2 really put things in perspective for me, because I have been feeling this way for a while. I found myself trying to get into a bunch of different things that used to make me feel like I had purpose, but was left feeling like there was no point in them after I started. Your podcast opened my eye to realize that I am older, and I need to reevaluate my values and who I am now in my walk of life approaching 40. I need to ask myself what do I value in life now that life has changed. I am going on 13 yrs married, have two kids in their double digits, I work from home for a law firm doing what I love, and currently a master's student. I am happy, and love my life, but I have been so used to being on auto pilot, that I forgot to mentally process how I have changed over the years. Thank you for such an inspiring podcast. Looking forward to working on myself and discovering the best of me so I can share the best of me with the people who mean so much to me! JP

  2. Thanks for sharing your personal life and experiences. I could relate so much with the feelings of disconnect you describe. I was so immersed in being what the world calls a “good mom” and a “good wife” that I forgot to do things for me. I became a slave to unrealistic standards that I was holding myself up to and I think that’s what had me feeling off. In the midst of figuring out how to feel “normal” I broke away from friends and family members who no longer served a purpose in my life.

Defining my own values and standards really helps in breaking away from this toxic mentality and toxic people.
I love my kids dearly… but DH and I decided to prioritize time for ourselves and began dating each other again. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences, there are so many women that believe they are alone and no one will understand or relate.

  3. I love this! I’m always soul searching, looking for ways to grow and always love talking to women who are on the same wavelength. The whole time listening I’m like yes! You are putting my messy thoughts into words. I was literally going to go off and figure out a way to do this activity myself and you have it right here for us. You’re making a difference. Thank you.

Learning how to give time & energy to your creative side and working towards your passion while working your 9-5

If you tune in to episode 5, here is the link to the article I found, it's worth reading: https://www.forbes.com/sites/ellevate/2017/07/10/the-5-stages-to-living-your-passion/?sh=1531ca8443be If you have ever thought about leaving the corporate world , or if you have a creative side and something you’re passionate about, but don’t know how to get started then this is the episode for you. Too often we fall into society’s playbook of what we should be doing, and we get lost in routine and outside noise, that we forget to look inward and we start losing our vibrance, our energy and our zest… the 9-5 corporate world has made me slowly lose all that, but luckily it didn’t disappear, and I started making time to learn and get myself into little things that I enjoy, which is now leading me into a different path career wise. I used to have a mentality where I felt like I had to choose one thing and do that for the rest of my life, but when happens when your values change and you life cha...
